Painting Equipment Configuration

Spray Booth

The spray booth provides a dedicated area for coating application and controls overspray during operation. Booth dimensions, structure and filtration method are selected according to the workpiece and spraying process.

For different applications, ZHYAO can configure dry-filter booths, water-curtain booths or other suitable structures.

Spraying System

The spraying system can be arranged for manual, semi-automatic or automatic operation.

Automatic systems can use multiple spray guns and programmed spraying movements where the product and production volume justify a higher level of automation. Manual spraying remains suitable for large, irregular or frequently changing workpieces.

The number and arrangement of spray guns are determined according to the workpiece geometry and required coating coverage.

Workpiece Handling and Conveyor

For continuous production, workpieces can be transferred between process sections using an overhead conveyor, floor conveyor or other customized conveying method.

Conveyor capacity and speed need to correspond with the workpiece loading pattern and production cycle. This helps avoid creating a bottleneck between spraying, drying and other process stages.

Drying and Curing

After liquid coating is applied, the coating may require flash-off, drying or curing depending on the coating formulation.

The heating and drying equipment is therefore selected according to the coating manufacturer's requirements rather than using a universal temperature or heating configuration.

Pretreatment

Surface preparation is an important part of the overall painting process. Depending on the material and surface condition, the system may incorporate chemical pretreatment, immersion treatment, shot blasting or other suitable preparation methods.

For chemical pretreatment, drying after treatment may also be required before painting.

Ventilation and Filtration

The spray area requires appropriate exhaust and filtration equipment to remove overspray and maintain the designed airflow conditions.

The ventilation capacity and filtration configuration are determined together with the spray booth and coating process.

Electrical Control

The control system coordinates the operation of conveyors, spray equipment, ventilation, heating and other process equipment.

Depending on the automation requirements, PLC control, touch-screen operation, sensors and interlocking functions can be incorporated into the system.
